This foundation grants graduating high school seniors who want to pursue a nursing degree at any recognized institution. Children of employees of New York Life are also qualified. The Foundation chooses beneficiaries based on community service, academic feats and known financial need.  Awards are from $1,000 to $3,000 and renewed every school year. Community-Based Nursing Scholarships

Various communities in this state offer nursing education aid for local students.  Residency is a primary consideration for these grants.  Community may also offer scholarship programs to students who are willing to work in the community as nurses after graduation.  This is a way for retaining high quality nursing staff. The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation is one such organization which offers community-based nursing school scholarships in the state.
